Susan is a board director and senior human resources executive with deep experience in global manufacturing, industrials, technology, defense and B2B environments. She brings strong governance discipline, expertise in CEO and executive succession planning, and a proven ability to navigate complex dynamics in multigenerational family businesses and mission driven organizations.

Susan’s board contributions are grounded in a 30-year executive career leading large scale transformation, M&A integration, organizational redesign and global workforce strategy in Fortune 50 and Fortune 500 companies. Her background includes extensive leadership experience in chemicals and industrial manufacturing, providing her with a practical understanding of the operational, workforce and customer dynamics that shape manufacturing intensive B2B businesses. She has complemented this depth with senior roles in enterprise technology and retail, adding a broad strategic perspective on global growth, organizational complexity and transformation.

On the board at EJ, a global, family-owned infrastructure manufacturing company, she serves as the Compensation and Succession Committee chair. She also is a board member, Compensation Committee chair and member of the Nomination and Governance Committee at the National Safety Council, America’s pre-eminent safety advocacy organization. Susan also serves as an advisor to several exciting high-growth companies, including AirVet, Bear Process Safety and Wellist.

In 2023, Susan retired as the chief people officer at Chemours, where she led a broad portfolio including human resources, environment, health and safety. Prior to Chemours, Susan led human resources teams at large, publicly traded companies, including Albemarle Corporation, Hewlett-Packard and The Home Depot. In her adopted hometown of Wilmington, Delaware, Susan is passionate about community development and public health and safety, and volunteers with Meals on Wheels, REACH Riverside and Stop Soldier Suicide. Besides her professional and community service work, Susan is a proud Marine Corps spouse who works in support of Marine families.

She holds a B.A. from Rice University, an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed Wharton’s Women on Boards: Building Exceptional Leaders program and holds a Certificate in Private Company Governance from the Private Directors Association^®.
