This CPR and AED course prepares the layperson to respond to choking, breathing and cardiac emergencies — and how to use an Automated External Defibrillation unit in conjunction with CPR. The new NSC First Aid programs come with industry-specific training scenarios, allowing instructors to customize course content to make it more relevant to those in certain industries, some of which are high risk.
If you would like to issue course completion cards to students who successfully complete this course you must be an authorized instructor. If you’re already authorized to teach first aid and CPR by another nationally recognized provider, you may be qualified to become an authorized NSC instructor.

Safety through design is not a precise science. Since it is not a “one size fits all” type of effort, it will require customization within your company. But, the basic concepts of early involvement in the design stage, careful evaluation of hazards and risk assessment are universally applicable.
Readers will find divergent viewpoints, which are acceptable, since there has been success with many different approaches to their application. This text is focused on providing significant insights into the concepts, and their potential integration and application in your operations. The material must be sorted, evaluated and massaged to produce an appropriate blend for your operations, since safety through design is not a “cookie cutter” practice.
