Is the Orange County Alive at 25 court-ordered driver safety course mandatory?

Yes, any motorist is 25 years of age or younger who receives a violation in Orange County must complete this course.


How do I know if I am required to complete this course?

If you are required to complete this course you will receive the Alive at 25 Referral Form from the court at your first appearance.


How can I complete the Alive at 25 course?

The Orange County Alive at 25 court-ordered course is held on weeknights from 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm at the Orange County Emergency Services Center, 22 Wells Farm Road in Goshen, NY. To access up-to-the-minute class schedules and register for the class of your choice, click here.


What is the cost of the course?

The cost of the Orange County Alive at 25 course is $75.


When should I register for a class?

Classes fill quickly. NSC recommends that you complete your registration within 60 days of your court order. Visit our secure website, Orange County Registration, to register today.


Will I receive confirmation of my class registration?

Immediately after you register, a class confirmation will be sent to you via email at the address you provided during registration. Please review the confirmation carefully, it contains important details needed for the day of class. What do I have to bring with me to class?

Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in for your class. You must arrive on time. If you arrive after the class has begun, you will not be admitted. You must bring your Class Code Number shown on your confirmation email and a form of photo identification to class. Examples of acceptable photo identification include your driver’s license, a work or school-issued photo identification, or a government-issued photo identification card. If you are unable to provide photo identification, you will not be admitted to class. If you are unsure if your ID will be accepted, please contact NSC at [email protected].


Is there a dress code for the class?

Proper attire is required. No shorts, ripped jeans or tank tops are allowed to be worn while attending class.


Are there guidelines I have to follow on the day of class due to COVID-19?

How long is the course and what should I expect?

The Orange County Alive at 25 court-ordered course is a highly interactive four-hour intervention program that zeroes in on drivers ages 16 to 25, the group most likely to be involved in a fatal collision. The Orange County Alive at 25 court-ordered course uses workbook exercises, group discussions, role-playing and short lectures to help keep young drivers safe on the road.


Is there a test at the end of the course?

No. Successfully completing the course does not require passing a test.


When will I receive my certificate of completion to provide to the court?

You will receive your certificate of completion from National Safety Council by USPS mail within 14 days of your successful completion of the class.


What is the refund/cancellation policy?

Once registered all fees are non-refundable. To reschedule your class to a different class date prior to your next court appearance date, visit Orange County Registration.



What if my class is cancelled due to weather or other emergency?

In the event of a weather-related or other emergency cancellation, National Safety Council will contact you at the telephone number and email address you provided during the registration process. The facility hosting the class will be notified and a sign may be posted. We will work with the instructor and facility to reschedule the class to a new date and time. If you are unsure if your class has been canceled due to weather, or if you feel it is unsafe for you to travel to your scheduled class due to weather, please contact the National Safety Council.
