USPS Safe Driver Awards


The National Safety Council and U.S. Postal Service Headquarters work together to reward drivers who deliver on safety every day. The NSC Safe Driver Awards program is an easy way to encourage driver safety, and most program awards are free of charge as part of the U.S. Postal Services NSC membership

Safe Driver Lapel Pin

Recognize your drivers for 1 to 45 years driven without incident. Give them this quality crafted pin in rose gold with clutch fastener, 5/8” x 3/4”.

Expert Driver Award

Recognize drivers for 1 to 45 years driven without incident. 8” x 10” white and red foil certificate with USPS and NSC logos, includes driver’s name and years driven.

Million Mile Plaque

Recognize 1 million miles or 30 accumulated years without a preventable incident. Walnut plaque includes engraved nameplate. A million mile pin also is included.

Safe Driver Wallet Cards

Recognize drivers for a year of safe driving without a preventable incident. Each sheet has six cards you can personalize and print. Download personalization template.

Joseph M. Kaplan Safe Driver of the Year Award

NSC is proud to announce the 2026 Joseph M. Kaplan Safe Driver of the Year Award winners. They are:

  • Larry Marez – WestPac Area
  • James Sawyer – Atlantic Area
  • James Thomas – Central Area
  • Richard McDonald – Southern Area

The nomination period for 2027 will open Jan. 1, and nominations will be accepted through April 30.
