Circadian rhythms are physical, mental and behavioral changes that follow a 24-hour cycle. Disturbance of this cycle is a key risk factor for safety incidents and is seen more often in night-shift workers. Disturbances of the sleep-wake cycle can also cause health problems, such as depression, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
