Before NSC, Jane served as an appointee in the U.S Department of Transportation for seven years during the Obama Administration. Jane was director of public affairs for the Federal Highway Administration and helped coordinate the launch of the Road to Zero Coalition. Previously, she directed the Government and Public Affairs Office for U.S. DOT’s Office of Research and Technology, where she worked with the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) program, including the connected vehicle program’s Safety Pilot, which informed decisions about advanced technology in vehicles.
Prior to joining U.S. DOT, Jane was the director of the Washington office for the State of Illinois. She also brings 15 years of Capitol Hill experience as a senior policy staffer for Congressman Bob Wise and as legislative director for Sen. Robert C. Byrd.
