NSC to Open World's Largest Annual Safety Show in San Diego

More than 15,000 safety professionals expected to attend NSC Congress and Expo in September.

Itasca, IL – The National Safety Council will host its NSC 2019 Congress and Expo at the San Diego Convention Center Sept. 6-12. This year’s conference will feature more than 1,100 exhibitors, more than 150 educational seminars and four keynote sessions, giving attendees access to unparalleled resources to improve safety.

Preventable workplace deaths in the U.S. have increased each year for the past four years, illustrating that more needs to be done to protect our workforce,” said Lorraine M. Martin, NSC president and CEO. “Congress and Expo attendees have the opportunity to gain insight and tools that can make a valuable difference in their organization’s safety operation. We look forward to seeing what the best and brightest in safety have to offer when it comes to eliminating preventable deaths and injuries in the workplace.”

Notable speakers for this year’s event include Mick Ebeling (Opening Session keynote), founder and CEO of Not Impossible Labs; Nancy Case (Executive Forum keynote), vice president of environment, health and safety at The Mosaic Co.; Danyelle Phelps (Executive Forum keynote), director of enterprise environmental and operations sustainability at Owens Corning; Catherine Sheane (Executive Forum keynote), a civil/structures sustainability and resilience practice lead at Parsons Corp; Jack Jackson (Occupational keynote), a senior safety consultant with SafeStart; and Jim Carroll (Leadership keynote), international futurist, trends and innovation expert.

OSHA also will announce its list of the Top 10 most cited violations for fiscal year 2019.

In addition, NSC will host a roundtable discussion for media Sept. 9, where the organization’s latest offerings will be discussed. The roundtable will feature Martin, who joined the Council in June as its new president and CEO.
