National Safety Council Presents Training Impact Awards

Safety training instructors honored for advancing lifesaving skills.

INDIANAPOLIS – The National Safety Council announced the recipients of the Training Impact Awards, honoring instructors who go above and beyond to equip others with the knowledge and skills that help keep themselves and others safer, from the workplace to anyplace.

The following awards were announced at the 2026 NSC Safety Congress & Expo:

Defensive Driving Awards

Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving Award – Donna Atherton
Alive at 25 Award – Lynne Fallaw
Chronic Offender Award – Tamika Eutsay
DDC 10th Edition 4 Award – Debora Burgess
DDC 10th Edition 8/6 Award – Alva Williams
Left Side of the Road Award – Steven Grennell
Professional Truck Driver Award – Alphonso Grennell
State Courts Against Road Rage Award – John Rabidou
International Award – Juan Camilo Benavides Rojas
James A. Solomon Award – Alphonso Grennell

First Aid Awards

First Aid, CPR & AED Training Award – Andrea Workman
Pediatric First Aid, CPR & AED Training Award – Angelo Hudson-Dobbs

Workplace Training Awards

Workplace Training Award – Emmanuel Winful
Lifetime Achievement Award – Mike Ezzell

Child Passenger Safety Award Program

Child Passenger Safety Award – Kathy Vasitopulos

“Safety training has been central to the Council’s mission since our earliest days, and instructors have long played the critical role of bringing lifesaving knowledge to the public,” said Pete Schwartz, executive vice president of training at NSC. “We are honored to recognize the outstanding contributions these instructors have made to instill best practices and improve the safety of our workplaces, roadways and communities.”
