NSC Training Impact Awards

Nomination period begins in February. Instructor of the Year Award winners are notified in the summer and invited to attend the formal presentation at the NSC Safety Congress & Expo. (All travel, accommodation and incidental expenses covered by the attendee.)

Nominations may be submitted for each core course offered by the National Safety Council. Winning safety professionals are selected by members of various awards committees, including the DDC International Advisory Committee, safety consultants and professionals who are leading experts in the field. Winners are announced in the summer, awards are mailed in the fall and presented at NSC Safety Congress & Expo.

Nominations must be submitted through an online form by a National Safety Council division member, board member, officer, training center, member chapter, instructor or interested person with involvement in NSC training programs (Defensive Driving Courses, First Aid, Workplace Training).  

Individuals may be nominated for more than one award, however separate completed nominations must be provided for each course.

To be eligible for nomination, the nominee must: 

• Have a current NSC instructor certification number
• Be affiliated with a DDC or First Aid training center and Workplace chapter affiliate
• Be certified as an instructor for the program for which they are nominated
• Be a role model that has an exemplary record in safety
• Upload at least one instructor (or student) evaluation and include your name and the nominee's name
• Have taught at least one class in the previous calendar year
