Dr. Alaa Abd-Elsayed provides chronic pain medicine services as part of the Interventional Pain Management Program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He is also assistant professor in the UW Department of Anesthesiology. He was appointed to serve on the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board to combat the state's opioid epidemic.
Dr. Abd-Elsayed also serves as medical director of the UW Pain Clinic and Pain Services Department. He is the author of Chronic Pain – The Patient and Family Journey, and has published more than 100 presentations, 80 peer-reviewed articles, 10 book chapters and several editorials. Dr. Abd-Elsayed also serves on the NSC Physician Speakers Bureau.
