NSC to Open Annual Safety Show in Pittsburgh

EHS professionals can check out latest safety offerings at NSC Northeast Conference and Expo.

February 13, 2020

Itasca, IL – The National Safety Council will host its second annual NSC Northeast Conference and Expo at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh from March 12 to 13. Environment, health and safety – or EHS – professionals who attend the show will be able to check out more than 100 exhibitors, attend technical sessions, gain knowledge through educational programs and network with others in the field. Registration is now open at nece.nsc.org.

Notable speakers for this year’s event include National Safety Council President and CEO Lorraine M. Martin and Tim Page-Bottorff, senior safety consultant with SafeStart. They will present during Opening Session, with Martin – who joined NSC in June 2019 – discussing the importance of safety leadership in the workplace, and Page-Bottorff presenting “4 Life Lessons from a Traveling Zombie,” which takes a look at distraction and increasing human performance.

“The NSC Northeast Conference and Expo is a great opportunity for those in the region to learn more about best practices and tools to enhance safety on and off the job,” Martin said. “With total work-related deaths in the U.S. reaching the highest number reported since 2008, we must re-commit to worker safety. Attendees at this show will be able to gain useful information and insight to help protect their employees and keep them safe.”

Hot technical sessions at the expo include:

  • Work to Zero: Eliminating On-the-Job Death through Emerging Technology”
  • “Workplace Violence: What Really Happens”
  • “Hang Up and Drive”
  • “Protecting the Frontline with Military Precision”

In addition, an Injury Facts presentation will take place on the latest data for workplace, transportation and community deaths and injuries. A review of the most recent OSHA Top 10 violations is also on tap.

The NSC Northeast Conference and Expo is open to credentialed members of the media at no charge. Members of the press can register at [email protected].
