With over 17 years of experience, Kathy Freeman recently joined Mortenson’s Denver Operating Group as safety director. Kathy is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and administering the safety and health programs. She acts as a liaison with federal, state, local and insurance representatives on all safety-related areas, and is responsible for team member training, safety inspections and accident investigation. Kathy’s duties include managing the safety team, analyzing the need for and determining specifications of protective safety processes and control of hazardous working conditions, and ensuring all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures.

Kathy’s passion is investing in safety through teaching/coaching. She also is actively involved in safety committees. She most recently was elected to the AGC Board of Directors and serves as secretary of the NSC Construction & Utiities Division.
