Vice President and General Manager, North American On-Highway Business, Cummins, Inc.

José Samperio's Cummins career includes experience across various fields, including engineering, service, strategy and sales.

He started his career at Cummins as a product engineer before spending time in the field as a service engineer and in distribution service shop operations. He spent time in Beijing, China, launching new products, and later was general manager for Cummins Power Systems business in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Before becoming vice president, José served as the engine business strategy leader, where he was instrumental in helping craft the long-term vision for Cummins powertrain business, with a heavy focus on technology roadmaps.

José holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M, a master’s in mechanical engineering from Penn State, an MBA from Indiana University Kelley School of Business, a master’s in supply chain from Indiana University, a master’s in economic policy from the University of London, and he is currently completing a master’s in sustainability and renewable energy from Penn State University
