Patrick Phelan is responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of Council operations. He manages day-to-day accounting, budgeting, purchasing, business planning, financial reporting and treasury functions. He directs financial strategy in conjunction with NSC President and CEO Deborah A.P. Hersman and NSC COO Nick Smith.
Mr. Phelan was named 2015 CFO of the Year by the
Daily Herald Business Ledger. The award celebrates suburban financial executives who contribute to the success of the region's economic growth and stability. Nominees are selected and considered based on their contribution to the organization's overall growth, commitment to good ethics, effective reporting and involvement in the community.
Prior to joining NSC, Mr. Phelan spent 25 years at Amsted Industries, a multibillion-dollar manufacturing conglomerate based in Chicago. He held VP-Finance positions in both the Griffin Pipe Products and Griffin Wheel divisions. He also served as CFO at Huskie Tools and was responsible for all facets of finance.
